Improved Smartsheet search functionality

On October XNUMX, XNUMX, Smartsheet refreshed the look and feel of its search functionality to improve performance.Search now not only has a modern UI, but it is also highly scalable and results are more accurate.This will help customers find items in her Smartsheet and work more efficiently. Searchable by 3 criteria

With the new search function, you can now specify the three criteria of Smartsheet content "type", "updated time", and "location" from the pull-down menu, making the search more efficient. It is now possible.

Search by type

Search by type of Smartsheet content, including sheet names, rows, dashboard names, and conversations.

Search by modified date

You can search by the last XNUMX hours, the last XNUMX days, the last XNUMX days, and the update date and time.

Search by location

You can search by None, Current Sheet, or Workspace criteria.Workspaces are not initially displayed, but when you search on a specific sheet, the workspace to which that sheet belongs becomes available as a basis for searching by location.This function is useful when IDs are used in multiple sheets on multiple sheets in a workspace, such as in a relational database.

Clicking on the circled pencil icon on the far right of the image above will bring up the edit screen as shown in the previous image.By accessing the edit screen for related items (rows in the example above) from the search results, you can edit multiple items at once without opening individual sheets, which is convenient.

Click the arrow icon circled in the center of the image above to jump to the sheet.

The type of search criteria can specify, for example, lines, conversations, etc., but can also jump to search result items of the specified type.

Clicking on the underlined XNUMX circled on the left edge of the image above jumps to the row of the sheet containing XNUMX.

In the example below, if you search for "conversations" that contain the keyword "introduction", you can access them by clicking the circled conversation icon. (The conversation shown in the image was added using Smartsheet's Gmail add-on.)

Partial match search with wildcards

Use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard to search for partial matches.In the example below, if you search for "*Inc", both Smartsheet Inc and Joe & Cloud Inc will appear in the search results because they include Inc.

An exact match encloses the search term in double quotes ("")

To search for an exact match, enclose the search term in double quotation marks ("").For example, if you want to hit only Smartsheet Inc in the above example, search for "Smartsheet Inc". Similar to Google search.
